Product Description

Scallop-Edged Caudex & Fan-Like Form

Euphorbia poissonii, commonly called "Scallop Kylin Euphorbia", is a remarkable species in the Euphorbiaceae family native to the arid and semi-arid regions of West Africa (such as Niger and Nigeria). Its most distinctive feature is its large, flattened caudex that grows in a fan-like shape, with irregular, scalloped edges—resembling the ruffled edge of a scallop shell, hence its common name. The caudex has a rough, textured surface with a grayish-green to brownish hue, developing deeper fissures and more pronounced scallops as it matures. From the top of this unique flattened tuber emerge several upright, thick stems that branch moderately, creating a balanced contrast between the broad caudex and vertical growth.
