Lophophora fricii is a highly sought-after, slow-growing cactus prized for its striking symmetrical form and beautiful flowers. Unlike its relative Lophophora williamsii, this species is particularly known for its vibrant pink to magenta blooms that create a stunning contrast against its blue-green to grayish-green body. Its stem is spineless, rounded, and typically forms a perfect, domed shape with well-defined ribs adorned by tufts of soft white wool.

  • Origin: Native to arid regions from northern Mexico to the southwestern United States, typically found in desert scrublands and near limestone hills, often growing in rock crevices or sandy soil.
  • Soil: Thrives in well-drained, sandy loam soil. A soil mix with a high proportion of granular components is preferred, and a small amount of calcareous material can be added to enhance drainage, preventing waterlogging from heavy or compacted soil.
  • Sunlight: Sunlight needs adjust with seasons. It requires partial shade in summer to avoid scorching, while it can tolerate full sun in other seasons. In its natural habitat, it usually grows in dappled light under shrubs.
  • Cold Hardiness: Relatively cold-tolerant. When kept dry in winter, it can withstand short-term low temperatures down to -7°C. It is normal for

quarantine certification
