Grown from premium propagated stock, this cactus features a globular to slightly flattened body (reaching 8-12cm in diameter at maturity, clustering prolifically with age) with a bright green epidermis. Its defining trait is the large, fleshy tubercles arranged in a spiral pattern—each tubercle is oval-shaped with a distinct groove, resembling the strings of a lyre (harp), which gives it the "断琴" nickname. The tubercles are spineless or bear tiny, hair-like white spines at their tips, enhancing its smooth, tactile appearance without harshness.

In spring to early summer, it produces a ring of charming funnel-shaped flowers in soft pink to magenta, measuring 1-1.5cm in diameter. These blooms emerge from the base of the upper tubercles, encircling the top of the plant and lasting for several weeks—creating a lovely "crown" effect that contrasts beautifully with the bright green tubercles.
