3-12cm Mammillaria herrerae

Mammillaria herrerae is a highly prized and enchanting cactus, renowned for its exquisite, almost artificial beauty. Native to a very small region in Querétaro, Mexico, this globular to slightly elongated plant is covered in such dense, snow-white radial spines that the green stem beneath is almost completely hidden. The spines are soft and hairlike, giving the plant a delicate, puffball-like appearance that resembles a bird's nest or a snowy white sea urchin—earning it the beloved common name "White Bird".
