Product Description

Gymnocalycium-Like Tuber & Spineless Charm

Euphorbia gymnocalycioides, commonly called "Bare-Crest Euphorbia", is a distinctive species in the Euphorbiaceae family endemic to the arid regions of South Africa. Its most remarkable trait is its globular to ovoid caudex, which bears a strong resemblance to cacti of the Gymnocalycium genus—hence its specific epithet "gymnocalycioides". The caudex is smooth, fleshy, and typically spineless, with a pale green to gray-green hue that develops subtle mottling or markings as it matures. From the top of this rounded tuber emerge a few short, thin stems that are sparsely branched, keeping the plant's overall form compact and focused on its unique caudex.
