Product Description

Sea Urchin-Like Shape & Distinctive Form

Euphorbia suzannae, commonly known as "Sea Urchin Euphorbia", is an eye-catching species in the Euphorbiaceae family native to the arid Karoo region of South Africa. Its most striking feature is its unique growth form: a rounded, fleshy tuber (caudex) forms the base, from which numerous short, thick, spine-like branches radiate outward. These gray-green to blue-green branches are densely packed, giving the entire plant a spiky, spherical appearance that closely resembles a sea urchin—hence its common name. The branches are succulent and sturdy, with tiny, ephemeral leaves that appear briefly before dropping, highlighting its sculptural silhouette.
