Product Description

Bottle-Shaped Caudex & Upright Branches

Euphorbia pachypodioides, commonly called "Bottle Trunk Kylin Euphorbia" or "瓶干麒麟", is a striking species in the Euphorbiaceae family endemic to the arid regions of Madagascar. Its most distinctive feature is its robust, bottle-shaped caudex (tuber) that swells at the base and tapers slightly upward—resembling a small decorative bottle, which gives it the "bottle trunk" common name. The caudex has a rough, grayish-green to brownish bark with subtle fissures, adding to its rustic charm. From the top of this bottle-shaped base emerge several upright, slender stems that branch moderately as they grow, creating a balanced, tree-like silhouette that contrasts beautifully with the swollen caudex.
